Opening In Tunbridge Wells!

Rok Skool, Southern England’s thriving contemporary music academy, which first opened its doors to the public in 2006, is going forth and multiplying!

From April 27th 2009, Rok Skool will be live and electric in Tunbridge Wells every day after school and all day Saturday, offering band sessions, recording, professional tuition and fun for beginners upwards, in a fully-equipped Music School.
And the site for this exciting new enterprise could not be more suitable for the purpose. Designed by a chart-topping band from the area (who prefer to remain anonymous - but if you are keen on pop music you probably know who they are), this former barn was converted into a fully soundproofed, state-of-the-art rehearsal and recording studio, where the band developed their latest album.
Geared towards music creation and live performance, Rok Skool is a fun, family-run business aimed at youngsters eager to play in a Rok Skool band, learn the mysterious arts of songwriting and recording, and become proficient guitarists, drummers, bassists and keyboard-players. Contemporary pop/rock vocal coaching is also on offer!

Rok Skool is a music school like no other! Our programmes allow children as young as 8 years old and upwards to plug in and rock out in a band! As well as live concerts at the end of term for bands and singers to put their talents to the test, our budding stars will perform in various village and town days and other public community events, and in local schools, making Rok Skool certain to become an important feature on the local, cultural landscape.

Musical Director of Rok Skool in Tunbridge Wells will be Hereward Kaye (www.herewardkaye.com), who founded the brand in 2006. A former member of the Flying Pickets – famous for their a cappella sound and Christmas No.1 Only You, he toured the world with them for thirteen years. Having also been lead vocalist with Rick Wakeman, songwriter with Tom Robinson, and composer of a Cameron Mackintosh musical in the West End, Hereward is just the guy to pass on his knowledge to fledgling musicians, songwriters and bands.
